Wishing you a Safe and Happy 2009
From the President and Committee of the New Zealand Hypnotherapy Federation Inc.
As the umbrella organisation for the Hypnotherapy profession in New Zealand, one of the Federation’s objectives is to foster closer ties between the New Zealand Hypnotherapy organisations.
The National Hypnotherapy Conference continues to improve each year, and this year’s conference held in September was no exception. From a one day in 1995 the Federation conference has evolved into a full weekend of on-going training featuring local and overseas speakers, and the profession’s premier event: the Hypnotherapy Profession’s Award Dinner.
The 2009 theme was “Improving Health and Happiness with Hypnosis” and the quality of the speakers saw a record number of delegates attend both days. Our Keynote Speaker on the Saturday was Mr Roy Hunter (USA). Roy also conducted his one day workshop on Part Therapy on the Sunday. It was our best conference yet.
Dennis Hayter was the recipient of the profession's top award "The Merv Holster Award". (photo to be updated soon) Organising the 2010 conference is already underway, with Gary Johnston presenting on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder already confirmed. It promises to be an imprtant learning weekend, as well as great velue for money, and well worth attending.
LOOKING FORWARD… 2010 will be an exciting year for the New Zealand Hypnotherapy profession, which culminates with the National Hypnotherapy Conference to be held in September.
ALso happening shortly will be the setting of minimum standards of competence for the New Zealand Hypnotherapists Registration Board Inc.(NZHRB)entry criteria.
The NZHRB is the only independent registration board for hypnotherapists in New Zealand. It liaises with other hypnotherapy organisations (E.g. NZ Hypnotherapy Federation) for items of mutual interest, while remaining totally independent. This gives confidence to those who are looking for a registered hypnotherapist.
You may be aware that the New Zealand Qualifications Authority’s National Hypnotherapy qualification will not now be available. This is because the NZQA relinquished all of the Natural Therapy Unit Standards at the end of 2008. The NZHRB has assigned a Panel of Assessors to determine a professional standard of competence for the registration of hypnotherapists, nation wide. This will give greater credibility to the hypnotherapists registered with the NZHRB.
If you are experienced hypnotherapist and are not yet registered, please
email us to enquire how you can become a Registered Hypnotherapist.
The NZHF and NZHRB invites all Full/Professional members of the associations to submit their applications for registration without delay, to ensure that you align yourselves with the positive direction in which the New Zealand hypnotherapy profession is moving.
